I’ve been in Italy off and on about 4 months this year. Tonight was one of the best meals I’ve enjoyed. Simple, rustic, traditional comfort food like eating in my Nonna’s kitchen… if she was this good of a cook. One of the salumis had a powerful clean burst of flavor that blew my mind, the various percorinos served with a little honey were smooth creamy and nuanced with subtle differences. A bean and tomato soup as authentic a Tuscan dish can be tasted as tho it had been simmering for days but the beans maintained a firm perfect texture, possibly one of the best soups I’ve ever had. My sister could not get enough of the braised cabbage, her crostini with cheese, anchovies and crazy flavorful tomatoes made her close her eyes as she ate. Her Pappardella with wild pig was hearty and full of the earthy riches this region is known for…and lastly, my stewed meat in Brunella was exactly what I hoped it would be. My recommendations: The crostino with sausage and pecorino is to die for, and the black summer truffle cacio e pepe ravioli is one of the best things we've eaten on our Italy road trip thus far (a week in) 😍 just phenomenal. Lastly, the pork sausage with red onions and pork chop with truffle were excellent. You can't go wrong ordering those.

I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but if you ate what we ate, you will come away very satisfied 😌🤌🏼

Spiacevole esperienza, sono stato male tutta la notte. Una portata non deve essere stata trattata propriamente. Piatti mediocri, materie prime non eccellenti. Alcuni piatti di carne al limite dell'accettabile (la carne degli arrosticini d'agnello è durissima). Forse la clientela tipo sono stranieri non avvezzi alla cucina italiana. Posizione leggermente defilata rispetto alla vasca termale romana.

Come prima cosa mi preme sottolineare una sua mendace affermazione. Ho pagato fino all'ultimo centesimo ogni portata consumata e non ho chiesto nessuno sconto pur non avendo trovato eccelsi i piatti (non potevo sapere a priori che mi avrebbero fatto star male). Il millantare di aver applicato uno sconto mi porta ad immaginare due scenari: o lei stesso aveva dei dubbi sulla carne servita, oppure mi sta confondendo con un altro avventore.

Se ha dubbi riguardo la posizione del suo ristorante è sufficiente consultare una qualsiasi mappa satellitare per verificare quanto da me scritto "posizione leggermente defilata". Se trova l'affermazione errata le consiglio un corso di cartografia. Alternativamente può alzarsi da uno dei tavoli, attraversare la strada e tuffarsi, se atterrerà nell'acqua le faccio i miei complimenti. Non capisco perché abbia preso una realtà oggettiva come un critica.

Saranno anche 15 anni che usa materie di prima qualità, riporto solamente la mia esperienza nel suo locale. Avrò avuto la sfortuna di consumare l'unico piatto uscito dalla cucina con qualche problema. Mi auguro che il mio sia stato l'unico mal riuscito nella sua carriera, se così non fosse e tutti gli arrosticini da lei serviti avessero la medesima consistenza dei miei, le consiglio di cambiare o fornitore o metodo di preparazione. Per loro natura gli arrosticini di agnello dovrebbero essere morbidi e succosi. Diciamo che la sua risposta piccata mi dà da pensare.

Lei condurrà il suo ristorante da 15 anni con passione e amore, se in questi anni ogni piatto uscito dalla cucina è stato perfetto le faccio i miei complimenti. Resta il fatto che il piatto da me consumato mi abbia fatto star male.
