⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I had lunch at La Bottega Di Portanuova during our visit to San Quirico d'Orcia, and recommend it strongly! We were a bit nervous as this was our first stop during our trip, and despite our limited Italian, the staff was incredibly patient, nice, and accommodating, making us feel right at home. 🏡 We enjoyed a wonderful lunch featuring a delicious charcuterie board, a fresh tuna salad for my wife, and a perfectly toasted ham and cheese sandwich for me. The quality of the food was top-notch and truly authentic! The location was also perfect, allowing us to explore the beautiful area around San Quirico d'Orcia after our meal. We stopped in for lunch while exploring San Quirico and it was phenomenal. This restaurant puts an emphasis on local ingredients and everything tasted so fresh. We ended up splitting one of the special paninis, which had mortadella, pecorino cheese and a delicious truffle sauce. The sandwiches are pretty big so splitting was sufficient for us. Came in on January 6th, a holiday, and needed ingredients for cooking Osso Bucco. They have amazing gourmet items, but didn't have fresh herbs for sale. Instead they basically picked the herbs they had growing outside of the store and gave them too me. Talk about the Italian generous spirit. They were lovely! I got a nice regional white wine, and bought a slice of a chocolate pear tarte that was delicious...
