Ristorante da Ciacco is truly an excellent restaurant. It seamlessly combines friendly service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. One can choose to sit either in the comfortable inside area or outside. If you choose the latter, your experience will only be magnified. Sitting outside is surreal....you are virtually next to a 500 year-old church in a beautiful medieval village. Tuscan dishes are generally simple....characterized by locally sourced foods, the freshest ingredients and presented in a non-fussy way. Ciacco is different. The creativity and presentation of the food is truly amazing and the dishes are some of the best I have ever had....Tuscan or otherwise. I’d mention the Tonno (tuna) I had or the risotto, but chances are great that they may not be available the following day as the menu changes constantly, depending on what the cook may have found that day at the market. Ciacco is known in the area for having fish on their menu....something not typical in this area of Tuscany. I have had numerous fish dishes at Ciacco over the years and they have always been fantastic. I always seem to leave the restaurant in amazement as to how spectacular the meal was.....a meal easily on par with the best meals I’ve had at some of Europe best restaurants. Ristorante pretenzioso, caro arrabbiato, che ha dalla sua solo uno chef di medio-buon livello. Chi dà giudizi estasiati sull'assoluta prelibatezza dei piatti e sulla raffinatezza del locale, si faccia un giro in ristoranti veramente raffinati: questo è solo pretenzioso e caro. Tutto il resto è scadentissimo: servizio indecente, sciatto, lento. Uno dei due camerieri che ci ha serviti a tavola rispondeva in modo evasivo a monosillabi, biascicando e balbettando, come se l'avessero preso a fare il cameriere 5 minuti prima, mentre l'altra si è "dimenticata" un primo, arrivato poi al commensale quando gli altri avevano già avuto il secondo. Sciatteria in libertà, non da ristorante stellato. Non c'è neanche da mettere in campo l'affollamento del locale: prima decade di novembre, ben dopo il ponte dei morti, non era pieno. Locale arredato in modo rustico, ampi spazi fra i tavoli, ambiente quasi da locanda radical-chic, senza nessun lusso o particolare di spicco. Niente carta dei vini: le bottiglie sono in rastrelliere, e lì si possono scegliere. Oltretutto, non c'è una grande scelta di vini, ma prezzi alti, come se ci fosse una grande scelta. Ora, chi dà giudizi da 5 stelle a questo "ristorante" evidentemente non è avvezzo a gustare eno-gastronomia di alto livello, in un vero e serio Ristorante raffinato: sarà stato solo abbagliato dal cibo buono, e soprattutto dalle porzioni da fame e dai prezzi esorbitanti, tipiche di un ristorante di classe, che però è ben altra cosa. Siamo usciti ancora con appetito, dopo 2 ore e 3 quarti di estenuanti attese; ho dovuto chiedere esplicitamente e per ben due volte lo scontrino fiscale. 3 primi, 2 secondi, 2 bottiglie di acqua, 1 vino da 24 euro (con 3 euro di coperto a persona!) alla cifra insensata di 123,00 euro. We were recently in Tuscany in October 2023 . The food is deliciously yummy, The ingredients very fresh and the cooking perfect . It’s simple delicious food is prepared by a very talented chef who surprises your palate every time . The service is friendly and discreet a rarity nowadays. We loved this restaurant and its owners so much that we decided to have dinner there every night for a week after our daily excursions exploring Tuscany . We, my husband highly recommend...
