Attacked from the manager - my daughter burst into tears
If you have already read some reviews you already know that the manager is an aggressive person by the way he replies even to the reviews! unfortunately I didn't read the reviews before going to Trattoria Osenna in San Quirico D'Orcia. It ended up with the manager screaming at us and the lady at the till too, my daughter (9-year old) burst into tears :(
Facts: we arrived at the designed time of the booking and we ordered straight away for the kids (we had 3 kids with us) because we noticed the restaurant was quite full. The first course took ages to arrive but it was ok, the kids were fed and we didn't have any pressure. But after the first course we had to wait an additional hour for the second course and we asked one of the staff if everything was ok, otherwise we could go because the kids couldn't stay calmly seating anymore. The member of staff apologised and said there was a problem and our order was sent away (basically they thought we had already received the second course) and he added he would send the second immediately. He also told us that they were working long hours and they were tired and apologised again. We all felt sorry for the man who looked really tired. Anyway we patiently waited and then we went to pay. We had to go to the counter (they didn't take the bill at the table) where, in a very rude way, we have been told to wait again. At that point I asked to the manager if he thought it was polite to ask us with the kids (9, 3 an 1 years old) to wait even longer. At that point we've been ballistic and literally attacked by him verbally, saying that he was tired of tourists like us (meaning tourists that are disturbing him to tell what didn't go well) and he shout out loud to go away! When he said so I replied "ok", if you wish we can go straight away" and I made the action of stepping out. At that point the lady at the counter understood what the manager just told us and screamed at us even louder to stop. At that point my daughter got really scared and she started crying. I had to go out to calm her down and explain that some people prefer to be aggressive so they think they can do whatever they want and get away with a terrible service without the clients saying anything. I explained her that we have the right to say when something is wrong and not to be scared if someone is shouting, because it's just the most ignorant way to deal with people, bull, and we can't accept to be treated this way!
The staff was very kind to us, a lady offered water to my daughter when she was crying and generally speaking they were all kind during the service.

Read moreI went to this place twice. First was good. Second was not so good. Service was terrible. Slow. Items never arrived. Went to pay the bill and was charged another table's, after waiting 10 minutes to pay. But going on the waiter service not surprising. I had to pay the difference which was fine. They insisted on an extra 10 € which was not correct. I had to get my calculator on my phone and help staff do simple maths. A horrible night all around. I'm travelling around Italy as a tourist and understand service can be aloof. This was arrogant and disrespectful.
The owner seems also disrespectful in his reply to me. I will now list the faults of this business, through my eyes.
An extremely slow service and a crazy man as an owner, made of this restaurant the worst choice ever! We went there on a Friday at lunch, arriving at 12:45, with 3 children, and we got out at 15:40, for just one or two plates each (no appetisers, not desserts, no coffees). One of the waiters apologied for a mistake happened with our order in the kitchen, but despite admitting their fault, when we arrived at the till to pay, we asked to talk to the owner to complain, but he started immediately to be rude and very offensive with us, without even letting us speak! The lady at the till started shouting at us, possibly even more offensively than he did. Unbelievable!! Food was OK, but definitely not worthy. I warmly recommend you NOT to go there. They clearly don't care about their customers and their own reputation.
Edit: contrariamente a lei, non tutti hanno bisogno di usare traduttori per saper scrivere e parlare inglese. Detto questo, non solo ha dichiarato il falso sull'orario della prenotazione, mi ha pure scambiata per mia sorella (la quale recensione arriverà molto presto, non tema) quindi offendendo pure me e mio marito senza motivo. Non si preoccupi, le autorità le ho avvisate pure io, e insieme a loro tutte le mi e conoscenze in val d'orcia (ne ho parecchie), tutta la provincia di Siena e pure all'estero.
