Circolo Arolese — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni del Medio Verbano

Born and bred in this area of Lombardy, I regularly come back to my Communist Youth den, Il Circolo di Arolo, where we spent so many exhilarating night eating, drinking and chanting our anti-Fascist red anthems. What exciting times they were. The Circolo, the Workers Cooperative, is still here, to fight on. So glad. Emanuele is an excellent ”traditional Italian” Cook. Food is simple, tasty, delicious and affordable. Very friendly “simpatico” welcoming bunch looking after You. Priceless !!! Do pop in if You visit this gorgeously tranquil part of Lombardy, Italy, on the shore of Lake Maggiore. The “Polpettine Arrabbiata” in my photo were pure bliss for my palate. * Luigi

• PS: the second picture is of a Risotto ai Porcini 🍄‍🟫 that landed under my nose, hitting my nostrils with an incredible aroma, so creamy and… irresistible ! Wow...

We were on a 9 Day Vacation and tryed a lot of different Restaurant's. But this was a hole different Story. The Service was literally perfekt and the Location was great. We tryed to order some Meals which didnt stand on the Menu, but they tried there best and gave us what we order. And even tho it wasent on the Menu, it tastest really ducking delicious.

It was definitley a Highlight and we would have gave more than 5 Stars if possible.

2025 (update): were seated, waitress argued with guests who were loud, owner? came out, argued some more, were given the menu card after 15mins, after 25mins we left as no one even bothered to take drink order. Fortunately, there are several other restaurants with more attentative service in Arolo ... 2024: Very special Italian cuisine, nice...
