Simply outstanding! As foreigners we are always in search of an authentic local meal which is what we found at Beppe's. My justification for this ascertion was that no one spoke English other than my wife and I but we were able to communicate with both the server and another individual who I assumed was Beppe. The food was simple but very well prepared and we were provided with a sample of the speciality of the house (as described by Beppe) which was a nice touch. If you visit the Pagani Museum and factory near Modena, don’t leave without a visit to this little diamond of a restaurant. One of our best meals in Italy. We started with a caprese salad. Sliced meats and prosciutto with melon, and on to gnocchi with Gorgonzola, tortelloni (big tortellini) filled with walnuts, and fusilli with ham, rucola and cream that had our 12 yo rolling his eyes with pleasure. All served with two types of local breads freshly baked, and a wonderful Signora who helped us choose our meal. Mi sono fermato con la moglie e altra coppia per caso. Non conoscevamo il luogo. Chi ci ha accolti (credo sia di origini dell'est) è stato gentile, il luogo sembra ristrutturato da poco, bello, carino, accogliente! Abbiamo assaggiato il gnocco fritto, bhe erano anni che non mangiavo un gnocco così. Asciutto e un profumo di pane, sapore insuperabile. Darei 10lode solo per quei 2 pezzi a testa di assaggio! Bravi! Abbiamo ordinato la tagliata con rosmarino e olio d'oliva, e patate al forno....credetemi carne buonissima tenera saporita e cotta al punto giusto. No sangue ma neppure troppo cotta. Complimenti al cuoco! Così per le patate al forno una chicca! Ci torneremo per assaggiare di nuovo gnocco e gli affettati. Se devo dire qualcosa contro, chi ci ha accolto faceva il cameriere e il cassiere ed era solo quindi doveva farsi da fare quando i tavoli hanno cominciato a riempirsi di gente! Ma noi abbiamo atteso volentieri per il caffè (un caffè buonissimo) dopo la buona mangiata un po' di pausa ci vuole. Altro punto contro, quando la cucina a cominciato a lavorare a pieno ritmo gli odori o profumi raggiungevano la sala e questo può dare fastidio. Consiglio di isolare meglio la cucina dalla sala!
