On a rain soaked evening, we found a place on the hills close to Montepulciano, we found this warm place and stopped for dinner. The host, whose father owned the place, was very welcoming and we really enjoyed chatting with him. He was really passionate about the food and the olive oil that they produce locally. We tried their family made olive oil as well with the bread.
We had a tomato spaghetti and a ravioli for mains. The ravioli was very good and the spaghetti was nice to eat. We paired it with a rosso di montepulciano, which was very much to our liking. It was on the lighter side.
We finished with a dessert which was a vanilla pudding with some chocolate sauce on top. The chocolate sauce was a bit too sweet for our taste.
In the end, the place has quite nice food and has some amazing location and views during the daytime...

Aspetti negativi:
Read moreThis place has a lot of potential location wise as the view is beautiful but it was by far our worst experience dining in Italy in terms of service and overall experience. It took us over one hour for a waiter to come take our order (even just for drinks) despite our best efforts and despite the restaurant not even being full. The staff seem to intentionally ignore you when you try to get their attention. I love thats meals in Italy are slower paced but I would at least expect to be asked for my drink order within the first hour+ sitting down at my table.
The food was just okay - nothing close to what we’ve had in other places in Tuscany and other cities in Italy. I would not recommend...
