Locanda dei Fienili del Campiaro — Restaurant in Unione dell'Appennino Bolognese

We turned up unannounced at this isolated B&B. Up in the mountains but close to the motorway. Beautiful location where we sat on the terrace of the auditorium (a local artist foundation) with our wine and enjoyed the fantastic views in the evening sun. Room was spotless and modern & we were the only guests that July night. The only disappointment was breakfast. No pastries or fresh bread - perhaps because we had not booked ahead. We would probably have had dinner there if the owners had told us the restaurant was open. We travel to Tuscany every 2 yrs so plan to return here as the drive to Siena...

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and her family at the begining of summer during 5 days; we occupied 2 rooms. The rooms are simple but big, almost new and very clean. It's located in the mountains midway between Bologna and Firenze, the motorway is not faraway, so it was easy to visit both cities.
