Lacklustre, that’s how I would describe this entire experience. The service was lacking, we waited at the table with dirty, empty plates for far too long several times, there was zero pacing or attention, we waited for the bill and had to go find someone to give it to us, then had to wait another 15 minutes while they added it up. The tartare was chewy, apparently they need to sharpen the knife it was diced with, it also had zero flavour until I added some pepper and a bit of salt. The only reason this is a two is the ravioloni was quite good with the truffle cream sauce, the pasta cooked to perfection. The gnocchi were like rocks of potato, not fluffy pillows. The pesto again lacklustre—not a note of flavour to it, no acid (lemon), no herbs (basil), no salt or cheese (Parmesan) could I taste. The only reason I knew it was pesto was because it was green and oily. The lamb was dry and over cooked while the veg it came with had been obliterated to a fine mush—these were at least seasoned mush, however. I did not want to even try dessert but my friend always likes to have tiramisu every place we go as a measuring stick. Again, insipid, not a shred of coffee was tasted and the texture was weird, stodgy, and strangely, unpleasantly dense on the palette. The patio, although quaint when we approached, turned into a torture device because it was like sitting in an ashtray and a playground simultaneously. The entire meal was coated with ongoing cigarette smoke from all the tables around and those that came outside to smoke. I still have a headache. Children were screaming as they played, sent outside by another table, and between the high-pitched yelling and the smoke it was the things nightmares are made of. Quaint patio it was most decisively not. I will not mention the director’s chairs that, combined with the table height, left my face almost IN the food. If you do not enjoy dining in an ashtray, do NOT under any circumstances sit outside here. There just seemed zero care for any part of this meal or experience (aside from the small joy I gleaned from the ravioloni). Ecco, trovare un ristorante dove l’ambiente è curato, studiato e pulito, un servizio cordiale e gioviale, ma soprattutto il cibo di qualità (e quantità) al giusto prezzo, oggi è davvero difficile. Posizionato su una via di passaggio, forse anche in maniera strategica, può sfuggire anche all’occhio del più scrupoloso passante. Resta infatti abbastanza anonimo ad un primo sguardo, ma una volta girato l’angolo regala, soprattutto di sera, un’atmosferica unica e caratteristica. L’oste ti accoglie con cordialità e simpatia e ti offre varia scelta tra antipasti, primi e secondi, soprattuto di carne. Venendo all’aspetto pratico: la tartare e il misto di carni presi come antipasto sono risultati molto abbondanti e soprattuto di sapore unico e distinguibile; i tre filetti (abbondanti) cotti tra l’altro in maniera diversa , si scioglievano in bocca. La carne supera le aspettative. Abbiamo poi preso 2 acque, un calice di vino, due contorni, 3 dolci ed un caffè al prezzo di 120 €. Amaro e vin santo di accompagnamento al dolce, offerti. Che dire in aggiunta, questa sera ero andato semplicemente fuori a mangiare, ma mi sono ritrovato invece ad aggiungere sulla mia mappa personale, un segnaposto dove dover ritornare a mangiare. Eravamo già venuti a cena con i miei colleghi qualche settimana fa, così vista la positiva impressione avevo deciso di tornare con mia moglie. Così oggi a pranzo abbiamo messo alla prova nuovamente questo locale. Il ristorante è arredato in modo assolutamente particolare. Noi lo troviamo davvero bellissimo ma ciò che sorprende è l'atmosfera romantica e avvolgente. Unica nota ma del tutto accettabile la vicinanza tra tavoli ma è anche questa una caratteristica che è superabile. Una menzione particolare merita il menù. La qualità delle materie prime spicca ad ogni assaggio. Gli antipasti davvero eccellenti, così come i primi. Qui conviene venire affamati perché le porzioni sono generose. In due abbiamo assaporato una buona tagliata (carne non locale, come da menù) ben cotta. Per finire due sorbetti al limone con vodka. Due antipasti (di carne e di fritti misti con torte di verdure), due primi ( ravioli e gnocchi) una tagliata ed una bottiglia di rosso 90€... Eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo. Un plauso va al titolare di una gentilezza ed un garbo di altri tempi. Il vero oste. P.s. mai mangiati ravioli così buoni....
