Edit: it's been one year and many travels since - and we still talk about the food and this dinner!!!
One of the best dining experiences ever. Completely shocking as you're in this small, remote village! We're still in shock how good it all was. We're on a Euro trip and it's the best food we ate anywhere, including Italy so far. And we come from Tel Aviv, a foodie capital. We ordered almost the entire menu..and everything was delicious. We were too hungry and greedy to take pictures. We asked Raffaello, the cutest waiter who tried all his English, what his mum cooks best. Ordered that too. ..... The red wine- made without chemicals and no branding by the grandfather - resulted in no dry mouth and no headache..so we drank 2 bottles (3 ppl). See photo. Asked the owner, the mother, for her favorite grappa. Drank that too. Bought the bottle of them as that good...
We laughed a lot, a lot thanks to Raffaello. You HAVE to go there. And just eat everything. You...

Although they don't have a dedicated vegan menu, they advertise on a chalkboard that they offer vegan and vegetarian dishes, and a few are listed on the menu. When there, mention that you are vegan or vegetarian, and they will offer a few options. They do speak English.
They make vegan lasagna in-house, either with vegan bolognese or pesto, both made with vegan cheese. They also offer a vegan salad with what appears to be vegan deli meat made in-house. There's also an Antipasti del terra, which is vegetarian (with dairy cheese), but everything else in the dish is vegan, including various vegan spreads. Finally, they have a tagliatelle al fungi porcini, which is vegan.
Note: I'm only offering four out of five stars because I wish they had more vegan and vegetarian options, but what they do...
Read moreWe came back to this restaurant on the maps app, just for nostalgic purposes, and realized that I didn't post the below review a year ago. For the last year we spoke about this amazing restaurant and meal we had numerous times. Now read what I wrote a year ago:
Absolutely incredible restaurant, great value for money! We tried most of the menu, and everything was extremely delicious. Pastas, meat, seafood - everything was in the highest level! Also the wine was exquisite - 3 ppl drank 2 bottles, and every sip was amazing, with no hangover or anything. It is the family winery, made without any chemicals, absolutely incredible. In addition the waiter Raffaello was great, used all of his English to help us as much as he could, and gave us a great experience! For desert we had the greatest grapa, which we bought a bottle of. Please don't belive the bad reviews you see here, none of them...
