Trattoria "La Campigliola" — Restaurant in Unione di Comuni Montani Colline del Fiora

Choose this place randomly, from the map on our way to Saturnia. The reviews looked promising, so we decided to give it a go. Best decision ever. Everything they cook is locally produced and sourced from their surrounding farm. We were greeted by a nice young man who looked after us incredibly well. We ordered Cinghiale Alle Mele with mixed salad and Fiori di Zucca friti. Amazing, authentic dishes, so tasty. It was probably my first time having wild boar, and I'm forever in love with the deep-fried squash blossom filled with ricotta and anchovies. The bread, freshly baked in-house, added a comforting, homemade touch to the experience. For dessert, we took our waiter's recommendation: a homemade cheesecake topped with sour cherry jam. Like everything else, it was prepared in-house and simply delicious. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality you get. Questo posto è rimasto un po' negli anni 80, in parte come struttura, in parte nel menù. Una sala interna grande è ampliata da una dehors con struttura in legno e zanzariere ad inframmezzarla. Peccato la vicinanza alla strada e la polvere sul qualche cornice che sembrava lì da molto. Il tocco più simpatico: i disegni di alberi sulle pareti. Il menù è poco chiaro, stampato, poi cancellato a penna, poi riscritto a matita poi cancellato e riscritto. Ma ristamparlo no? Per quanto riguarda il contenuto invece un classico menù di carne da tipica trattoria maremmana apprezzabile per la varietà eccetto per il prosciutto e melone che ritorna dagli anni 80. Sicuramente positiva l'abbondanza dei piatti ed il prezzo, coerenti con una trattoria. L'antipasto della campigliola era pieno di prodotti locali e molto vario. La cosa più buona i tre crostini e le cipolline. Quella che mi é piaciuta meno gli affettati: per essere prodotti locali non erano eccezionali ed il prosciutto era stato affettato giá da un po'. Il pane a tavola, decisamente non fresco e a mio gusto di pessimo sapore. Come primo i tagliolini all'anatra erano molto abbondanti, buona la pasta, sugo niente di speciale. Un plauso invece lo metterei ai dolci, molto più contemporanei, la panna servita accanto al semifreddo era davvero ottima. Il conto ovviamente molto positivo. In conclusione credo che apportare qualche miglioramento nel tempo non credo vada ad inficiare sull'anima del locale, ma solo a mantenere un posto sempre vivo. We followed the recommendation of our Agriturismo owner and went for dinner here. It was as good as we expected. Delicious food that feels home made. Wild boar with appels and potatoes-mushroom "tart" we delicious, just like all other reviews said. And bistecca Fiorentina was served with a grill plate to fry it to perfection yourself and was tasty too. The personnel was very friendly and spoke English. We had a great evening and would definitely recommend it...
