Piazza Crova 3 — Restaurant in Vaglio Serra

Wow!

We’ve eaten in some really great Italian restaurants over the past 20 years but this must be one of the absolute best. We were staying in the village and emailed the restaurant to ask if they could accommodate us as vegans as their menu appeared to be quite meat orientated. They replied the same day and said they would be happy to accommodate us that evening but our options would be better if we could come the following night. I loved this attitude as it showed that they wanted to actually provide us with a positive dining experience rather than just giving us anything they could conjure up there and then (judging by the quality of the food we ate I’m sure they were very capable of doing just that).

We were served 5 courses including a gazpacho, a wonderful pearl barley dish including sun dried tomatoes and red onions, a very elegant lemon and mint spaghetti (even better than any we had on the Amalfi coast where I believe it is a local speciality), an aubergine parmigiana and finally a lovely refreshing lemon sorbet. The parmigiana was simply incredible. Easily the best vegan dish I’ve ever eaten in Italy. What talented chefs they have in this restaurant. Our Favorite Spot – Consistently Outstanding

Back at this gem after a few months — and once again, the dinner was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully prepared, and simply delicious.
