We went there for the weekend: two nights full board for 110 € each. The environment is wonderful, a rustic complex revised into hotel and restaurant run by a family in the middle of nature and with a great view, completed with a nice, small swimming pool that can be used during Summer time. Rooms are cosy and tidy, although the one we had was north side with only one small window so a bit dark during the day. Hotel is really perfect for a two stars stay. The restaurant is really awsome: exquisite home made food, the majority of which is made out with truffles and ceps. The choice is not wide, but everything is that delicious! And if you stay only one weekend you can't taste every dish. The full board considers two main dishes; either starters and pasta or starters and main dish or pasta and main dish, accompanied by water, wine, dessert and coffee. Portions are very generous and the personnel is impeccably friendly. Grilled meat is grilled in the fireplace. One small remark for belovers of salty breakfast: you should ask for it, since otherwise breakfast is only sweet, and they will prepare it for you. We went there once three years ago with the whole family and this time in couple, we didn't think about bringing our dogs but next time we will: they are...

Situated in the hills above the village of Valtopina the location is beautiful. The food is very good, with emphasis on truffle dishes, and more than holds its own with restaurants costing a great deal more. The atmosphere and service make you feel as if you are a family guest. They manage to achieve that elusive balance: 100% professional and at the same time friendly, personal and relaxed. Nothing is too much trouble. Alessandra is a very good host and has the front of house running like clockwork. We would highly recommend the Tartufaro and can’t...
