Was with a group from our association with about 25 people. We were about to make a hike, but unfortunately 5 of us were unable to join, including me. We went to the restaurant asking if there were any tables free. They said that they were fully booked, despite a lot of tables being completely empty (about 60% of the tables). Because we had to wait for our group. We waited 1,5 hour, sitting on trees and just talking, we went back to look if it was indeed filling up because it was fully booked, but when we returned there were even more empty tables. When we asked if we could take a table now, they still said they were fully booked. Maybe it was staff shortage, but we don't think that is the case. Sad that this place is so unwelcoming and rude if you don't book before hand, even if they have plenty of space. Would recommend to take enough drinking water and food when coming here, and don't bother going to this place. They handle criticism very badly, as seen in other reviews.
This section is added after the response of the owner. We did come with a large group, and we did have lunch packets. But we asked if we could use the tables AND order if that was a requirement to use the tables. We would order food and drinks. This was not accepted. Also we politely asked to use your toilets, to which your staff first gave an angry look, but still agreed we could refill our bottles and use the toilet. I don't understand why you have to lie about...
Read moreI took a well-deserved out of office day and, together with my friend “Chef,” we set off on a beautiful hike from the parking lot just below the Campo dei Fiori Observatory up to Forte di Orino — about ten kilometers round trip.
On our way back, my friend treated me to lunch at Osteria Irma, and what a treat it was! The whole experience was simply splendid: warm hospitality, genuine courtesy, and dishes that felt both comforting and refined.
The fried porcini mushrooms were out of this world — crispy, golden perfection — while the sciatt were an irresistible explosion of flavor that had us smiling with every bite. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the crema catalana sealed the deal: silky, fragrant, and absolutely worthy of praise.
Special mention goes to Arianna, the maître, whose kindness made us feel at home, and to the Osteria’s chef, not only talented but also wonderfully friendly.
From today on, Osteria Irma officially enters my list of restaurants worth the trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking to combine nature, tradition, and unforgettable...
