We came here twice for dinner - where do I even begin? This place is beyond perfection. I haven’t been back to Italy in 6 years and spent the entire time fantasizing about the food. This place answered all my prayers. My girlfriend is vegetarian and they had plenty of options for her. Night 1 we both got bruschetta and arosticini to start- incredible! The bruschetta was fresh and the mix of flavours they provide are phenomenal. Next the arrosticini, an Abruzzo Classic. Very good and very reasonably priced. We then ordered two pizzas and a half litre of wine. The wine is likely a house white, and it was perfect for a summer night. The pizzas are amazing. The dough is gooey yet crusty and crispy. The owner makes them right in front of you. On the second night, we got a meat and cheese platter and supplì. The server recommended flavours and they were literally better than the ones in Rome. I ordered the Veal (Vitello) which was served beautifully with tomatoes and balsamic reduction. They’ll ask you how want it done. Girlfriend got a pizza margherita. Again amazing. We then ordered after dinner liqueurs (amari). The Genziana and Ratafia are both excellent. The service is exactly what you expect in Italy - minimalistic yet everything you need. The atmosphere is family restaurant style, loud, and hectic. We enjoyed ourselves very much. 10/10 would come back again. Note: book a table in advance! Not...
Read moreI have never felt so unwelcome in my whole life. 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) walked into the restaurant earlier this evening hoping to have dinner, when we said hello they said they don't speak English (no problem, this was expected) we asked for a table and were told without any hesitation they are full even though the restaurant was completely empty apart from 2 customers sat outside. I questioned her asking you're full looking around the empty restaurant, thinking I must have heard wrong but no I was correct she repeated we are full. It was very clear that they just didn't want to serve us as we didn't speak Italian. We are all well travelled and have never experienced racism like this we weren't even given the opportunity to communicate in Italian and they certainly didn't try at all to meet us half way.
In reply to your response, firstly it is not the same person, it is my friends daughter who was with us and very upset and left hungry after your treatment towards us, so she felt the need to leave a review from her point of view. In your reply to her you said you explained..... You did not explain anything, you simply said we are full (very abruptly) and waved your hands in the air towards to door. After reading through previous reviews I can see I'm not the first person to feel the racism. You attitude in person and in reply to this review...
Read moreIt was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I am 10 years old and wanted a nice dinner with my mum and her friend. However we didn’t get as far as trying the food as due to some bare rudeness from staff. I was in Italy and had found this restaurant along the road hungry as for I had been on my travels all day. Now as they only speak Italian and I’m English they had told us that they were full ( even though the restaurant was not full with 2 customers sitting outside) this was due to they just couldn’t be bothered to even try speak my language!!! I would have been happy to speak Italian NOT OK...
