We were offered verbally 3 different menu deals including a starter and red wine (which was ok, but only this one option). It apparently only needed to be for us, since we saw other tables obtaining the pasta without starter, or just bistecca alla fiorentina that we were not even offered. We were suspicious of this verbal menu restricting our freedom of choice, but we allowed ourselves the chance for a nice surprise. The starter was a selection of cold meats, olives and a bit of cheese which was not great in comparison with the selection I could buy from local shops. However it was really big and both of us could not finish the main after that. Overall the food was ok and the price fair, but we found the approach dishonest, and could have paid less for less food. Outsiders don't like to be treated differently, especially when they can easily understand that it was the case, and it doesn't make your offer stronger at all. When I reported our observation to the waiter who might well be the boss, I could feel the awkwardness, and it's true it's nothing to be proud of. Anyway, thanks for the little awkward discount, it was a nice gesture to make it slide. Just a piece of advice for your continuous improvement: if you want to act exclusive and special, be like that with every table and propose a stronger mixed starter, one that is less focused on quantity, but rather quality (can't comment about the tartare, which I would gladly have ordered as single dish). Offering more wine options would be a good...

So overall little disappointed , that said the place was busy so maybe I hit a bad...
