De Gustibus — Restaurant in Venaus

One of the worst experience in my life. We stopped here to pick up something for the further journey. In a rude tone the female waitress pointed out to us that the kitchen is closed.

We said that we would at least like to take an ice cream with us then. The waitress pointed us to the freezers next to the counter. When I opened the chest, the waitress suddenly yelled at us loudly. "No, no, no!" She pointed out in an annoyed and aggressive tone that we should not open the freezer. I apologized for this - but I also pointed out that there was no indication that we should not open the chest. Furthermore, the waitress herself had asked us to choose an ice cream in the chest.

Thereupon the situation escalated. She shouted at us in an exaggeratedly loud tone. She became so aggressive that we were afraid that she would get violent at any moment. Premetto che ci sono stata 4 o 5 volte. Pizza buona, ristorante con poca scelta, ma discreto. Un buon posto per fuggire dal caldo estivo. Ieri ci sono andata per il pranzo di Ferragosto. C'era il menù fisso a 38 euro. Leggendolo non sembrava male. Invece é stato pessimo. Seduta alle 12 e 30, alle 14 e 15 avevamo finito il primo. Molta attesa tra una portata e l'altra. Ma questo sarebbe stato il meno, dal momento che é Ferragosto e uno se la prende con tutta calma, se il cibo fosse stato discreto, invece era veramente pessimo. L'antipasto era passabile: un assaggino di 5 antipasti molto semplice, ma mangiabile. I primi piatti, invece, erano immangiabili. Erano particolari gli accostamenti di sapori, scadenti gli ingredienti. Quando non si é troppo bravi a cucinare, é meglio fare ricette semplici e classiche, invece di abbinare sapori che non si sposano bene tra loro. Vedendo che i tempi si allungavano a dismisura ed alcuni altri commensali, che attendevano di ricevere il bere ed il piatto con gli antipasti da più di 30 minuti e non arrivava nessuno a servirli, si alzavano e se ne andavano, abbiamo chiesto al cameriere se cortesemente potevamo saltare il secondo (maiale marinato con pesche e caffè) e passare direttamente al dolce. È tornato dicendo che non era possibile. Così ci siamo alzati e ci siamo recati alla cassa, facendo presenti i disguidi del sevizio. La proprietaria invece di scusarsi ci ha risposto scortesemente, e nonostante avessimo mangiato solo gli antipasti e parte dei primi piatti immangiabili, ci ha fatto pagare 82 euro in 2 persone. Complimenti, io fossi stata in lei, intelligentemente, mi sarei scusata ed avrei fatto un piccolo sconto....

Background: There’s no any shop nor bakery hours of walking from here. Event: I needed to get some take-away bread as I was staying in the village and I run out of it for my breakfasts.
