Villa Eva Restaurant & Beach — Restaurant in Ventimiglia

Firstly i must say some staff, were very friendly and helpful, ie Deborah, others Bah... lets leave it there.

I have travelled extensively since retiring within Europe ... and the world for that matter,

But i must raise this point because i fear this takes the biscuit from this establishment,

Having eaten and drank in some very varied places and i (MEAN) varied i found it so disrespectful that an elderly person is treated this way, let me explain.

It all started so well seated on the table adjacent the rail overlooking the sea and the beach... very nice.

Approached the bar as i did not see any waiting staff and ordered a drink.. was asked where i was seated and was bought said over, also to my delight an assortment of snacks.

Was then asked to pay for my drink as (her shift had finished and she needed to clock up receipts) duly paid.

it was only then that every subsequential drink purchased i was asked to pay for.. there reason behind this (a lot of people had left without paying there bills) Management speak.

This happened for the 2 days i came.. i subsequently left early and ate elsewhere and will not be returning.

Whatever happened to common decency and produce a ticket or slip and pay when you leave, as i have had all over the world. Cafes, bars, restaurants all within Ventimiglia seem to be trustworthy so...

We stayed 5 nights in a suite with terass and sea view.||Positive||- Lovely views from the balcony and the restaurant. The location at the beach is amazing!|- Good breakfast buffet but sometimes er had to ask for bread other than pastry. Also not much to put on the bread other than marmelade and nutella.|- Nice stone beach, with a bit of sand also. There were always free sunbeds by the pool.|- Good food store close by|- Good location with car, we went on daytrips to beautiful places in Italy and France.|- Calm and peaceful in the morning (pool opens about 8-9 in the morning)|- Tried the restaurant one evening, it was good!! ||Negative: ||- Cleaning poor! They did not vacuum/clean the floors in our suite. Did not take away empty bottles and so on. Made the bed sloppy and so on. |- Bathroom smelled a bit weird.|- It is supposed to be a private beach but there are lots of other people than the hotel guests on the beach.|- When we arrived on sunday it was pretty crowded (day guests). |- Slightly worn room, would be nice to fix.|- Always full of cars in the parking lot. We did get parking but it was a bit tricky...
