Evocative setting and quality food, a modern take on traditional dishes made with local fresh produce and beautifully presented. The quiet ambiance — at least on a weekday — contributed to a peaceful dining experience. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and by skilled personnel.

Set and styled with buon gusto, from the handcrafted tables to the potted lemon trees. It is worth mentioning the beautiful small potteries on display, and two “pozzi”, water and food tanks dating back to the functional era of this masterly-restored masseria.

Amazing experience. I had the Christmas lunch with my family at Masseria Caronte, historical farmhouse (ancient construction typical of Salento) that hosts a fine restaurant located in the countryside of Vernole. Great food (I particularly enjoyed the beetroots and snapper tartare risotto), perfect timing between the courses, very good service from a friendly and yet professional personnel. My family of 11 are visiting the region and we needed a special place for a special occasion. Masseria Caronte was definitely a special place.
