This was the second visit to this wonderful accommodation. Located on the southern edge of the murge in Puglia, it's convenient to visiting all the interesting and beautiful cities of this area i.e. Locorotondo, Ostuni, Grottaglie, and even out to the Adriatic coast. Lecce and the Salento is about an hour's drive to the south and Altamura and Matera about an hour and a half to the north. After a day of sightseeing, this is the perfect place to come home to for a relaxing afternoon or evening. ||There have been many improvements since our Stptember, 2021 visit including turning the old fratoria into more guest rooms. The owner is an architect and artist and most of the features have been hand crafted. This time we were in one of the new rooms in the old fratoria which were modern but still maintained the character of it's surroundings. A beautiful meld of tradition and modern. The pool was sparkling and clean even in off season and the grounds are meticulously landscaped. I loved the limestone tables and benches in the garden where in warmer weather in 2021 we had breakfast and this time played cards with our friends.||I can't write this review without mentioning the staff. Every single staff member we came in contact with were extremely courteous and professional from the restaurant wait staff to reception, to housekeepers. It is run like a 5 star hotel and you are treated likewise. A special shout out to Simona who was the first person we encountered at this wonderful retreat. Also Simona number 2. Their professionalism is impeccable. The owner of the establishment is very lucky to have such a...

Read moreWe booked this stay through Booking.com, and the booking stated a deluxe room. Although the staff were extremely pleasant, willing and helpful, and the food excellent, we found no problem with the grounds, although some relaxing seating away from the pool would have been good, but the room itself was so disappointing for a supposed deluxe room. | Room 6 had a very large comfortable double bed, desk and one desk chair, the other desk chair was holding open one of doors into the shower room, but where was a comfortable chair in natural light?? There was also an unmade single bed with a sheet over it at one side of the room, but no comfortable chairs at all. You could possibly have had a sofa bed. | The entrance had lovely wooden doors in front glass ones. On the other side was full length glass window with the similar solid wooden doors in front which had NO KEY!!! which made the entire room starved of natural light, and coupled with the lack of comfortable seating, an unwelcoming place to spend any time, something I found particularly annoying and disappointing. | The wardrobe is fitted in the large shower room, but the open plan shower, whilst a good shower with three different sprays, does not have a protective screen in way of the wardrobe, just over a metre away, meaning that after using the shower, if you wanted to access the wardrobe you had to put up with wet tiled floor immediately in front of it. |It was disappointing but I consider that the room itself is not to the expected standard of the rest of...
