We were lucky to experience Christmas Day dining in AH Brau whilst staying next door at the sachsenklemme (see that review) literally a stone through away.
The whole place is a brewery with a bistro, bar and dining area. We were welcomed kindly by the gentleman at the door in English, German and Italian and seated in the dining area with a great view of the deck and snow.
We ordered from the menu although a Christmas menu was available with a great selection.
We ordered the first course of the spaghetti deer ragout and the beer soup. Both were ample and delicious with full flavours and cooked to perfection.
The kids ordered the dumplings trio (cheese, spinach and mushroom), and the margarita pizza. I managed to eat a bit of both and they too were great.
For main we ordered the deer medallions and the deer ragout tagliatelle. Although we were full from the first course we enjoyed these delicious meals that were also cooked to perfection and with a great accompaniment of sides and jus.
Most definitely will be back on our return to the region given the quality of meals here.
You must try here should you be within the region for the meals and beer / wine all...
Read moreVery good spot in South Tyrol adjacent to a historic hotel. Large terrace outside with a modern design integrating beer vats (fermentation tanks) in the dining room.
AH Bräu stands for Andreas Hofer, a local leader of an independence movement who unfortunately lost his last battle and was shot by firing squad by the French to stop his movement.
It was particularly cold that day so no one on the terrace. We quickly were served beers but the food took a while to come out (for a pizza) while there were only two tables.
Service was friendly in German language, the overall premisses are clean, modern and functional with the iconography of the local Andreas Hofer all over the walls which make it whimsical and cute.
We made a detour to stop here and did not regret it, prices are very competitive and present good value. Recommended.

Read moreModern brewery with tyrol vibe, just 15 minutes far from Brixen! I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and it’s never disappointing. You have a range of traditional tyrol dishes and pizza options as well; If you want to try local food, I suggest trying their wurstels and their pans with different kinds of meats. As a starter you should have their schultzkrapfen, which are typical ravioli filled with spinach. Also their beers are worth a try, as well as their “bieramisù” , which is the typical tiramisú dessert, using beer instead 😁 For a main with beer and dessert, the average price would be...
