Great experience at Artifex, especially as a hotel guest since you can enjoy the food while kids are taken care of. Everything was spot on, from atmosphere to service. The 5 course menu that we opted for is remarkable, although we (and our neighboring tables) found it to be too extensive when you counted in the freebies. 2 out of 3 tables did not make it to the desert… some people might consider this a plus. The main dish, venison (pictured) was truly remarkable.
The service was attentive and friendly, advised us well on the wine, and kept the dishes coming at the perfect pace.
I would have loved to hear more about the nature of the ingredients. Knowing the hotel well, I’m sure many have a special story behind. It’s a bit of a missed...

Ottima esperienza, cucina di altissimo livello dal benvenuto al dolce. Alcuni piatti estremamente brillanti, su tutti l'amuse bouche alla cipolla, il risotto coi porcini e il sigaro dolce. Wolfgang ci ha saputo consigliare benissimo sul vino. Ristorante ad oggi (1 novembre 2024) che ha ricevuto anche pochi riconoscimenti rispetto a quelli che meriterebbe, su tutti la stella Michelin. Siamo stati a diversi stellati e in alcuni la qualità non si avvicinava minimamente a quella dell'Artifex. La sala è gestita benissimo da Wolfgang e Alessio, unica piccola pecca che Alessio (nonostante bravissimo!!) non parli italiano. A inizio cena, comunque, ci è stato comunicato che se avessimo voluto il servizio in italiano ci saremmo potuti affidare a Wolfgang, quindi il problema non si pone!
Per chi ama la cucina gourmet fatta bene, il posto è una tappa imprescindibile...
