Wow! This place is pretty deep into nowhere and hidden up an odd little slope amongst the trees. I felt sure we'd either be eaten by bears or murdered, but we were welcomed in from the rain by a sweet women with a towel and a smile. We ordered cakes and drinks with were all ticketyboo. Everything is hand made, including the building itself and the furnishings. This place also has a bar on one floorand one of the most delightful WCs I've encountered - it has one of the antique bathtubs...

I visited Café de la Paix in Biei, Japan, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was prepared with care and full of flavor. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. What made it even more special was the kindness of the staff — everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is terribly overrated. Menu options were disappointing compared to what is shown in the photos.

The potato pie lacked flavor. The tomato curry and cake set are good. The caramel milk tea was a mistake. Perhaps it was added to the wrong type of tea.
