Don’t think you can call yourself a Wine House if you fall short of standard restaurant practices and etiquette by so much. Perhaps I’m overly critical but I’m reviewing this as a wine lover.

  1. Quality of wine is so low it was shocking. I regret not taking a look at cellar tracker before visiting the wine house. The low scores were indeed accurate.

  2. Price of wine was comparable to entry tier European fine wines but obviously the quality was nowhere near. Around 3500-4000yen for crappy wine.

  3. Selection of wines were extremely limited. Seriously you shouldn’t call yourself a wine house. The vintages were also not displayed in the menu and when queried, the vintages were all recent years with one vintage per type of wine.

Now we move on to the food. It was mediocre. Overpriced. You can get much better food elsewhere in town.

Don’t waste your time here. Extremely...

Location - it perched on top of a hill overlooking at the Furano town. Very beautiful.

The property is unusually quiet and serene.

The food was fantastic. We ordered the set A that comes with the beef which we upgraded with the Hokkaido Wagyu and the set B with pork.

Our son had the red wine beef while our daughter had pasta.

For drinks, we chose the grape juice made from the wine grapes. Expectedly sweet, but not excessive.

The ambience was peaceful mostly, disrupted by occasional groups of tourist speaking at the top of their voices.

The restaurant mostly arranged these groups in a separate room except a smaller group of elderly tourists.

It would be a lot better if the diners could whisper.

Otherwise, it was a very...

Beware! Hours are wrong online. Open until 9pm online and when we turned up at 7pm they turned us away saying the kitchen was already closed. Unlike anywhere else in Japan they were rude about it, and they didn't seem to care that the hours online differ to the actual hours. It's a commitment to get there in the snow at night so we were not happy. Hence the 1 star review! I'd still like to eat there. Perhaps I'll have to go for lunch as the location looks like it will give...

Went there for dinner two nights ago. We were the only table there. Walked in without reservation. Cheese fondue was very good. We order extra fondue, extra bread and extra vegetables. Kids shared a four cheese pizza. And we had venison and Wagyu steaks. Also had a bottle of Furano wine. Very fruity and went well with the food which was made with local ingredients. Bill was more than 50,000 yen which was a lot more compared to the other local restaurants. But we did enjoyed the food.
