Edit: The manager Ryan called me to make things right, he offered to deliver a complimentary meal to my home and give an in person apology. That kind of gesture is greatly appreciated. If a restaurant has great food and what I consider high prices they cancel each other out and I’m good with that, hence why we visited multiple times. Bad service and rude staff I can’t deal with. I’m glad Ryan called as he has changed my opinion of the restaurant. Hopefully it was just one staff member having a bad day, but one bad apple can spoil the lot. Thanks again for reaching out.

Original: The food is not bad, but the prices are fairly high, service is slow, and the staff are extremely rude. We have been here multiple times. First couple times were ok with the owner, until the staff changed. Last time we called in a to go order, got there 15 minutes later and then waited an hour for food. There was only two tables of people there. Finally I get my food and I see a chef riding up on a scooter with his apron on. That’s kinda dirty for a restaurant. Today I again called in an order and the man kept talking to other people while I was ordering, which was confusing me. So I couldn’t tell who he was talking to. This happened multiple times so I didn’t know when to talk. Then he snapped at me and said “ARE YOU USING SPEAKER PHONE! If so, turn it off!!!!”. This was 10 minutes after they opened.....very angry for the start of a day. I answered no and was about to hang up, would have if I didn’t have a hungry child. This is the last time I spend...

Burger Bear is a fresh restaurant! Literally, it just opened, and has it's grand opening this Memorial Day weekend. The burgers are delightfully seasoned and made fresh daily. The buns are fresh; the spicy guacamole on the chicken burger is made fresh; the lightly seasoned fries are hand cut fresh daily; and most importantly, an actual American styled burger joint on Okinawa is a breath of fresh air.

My wife and I happened to stop by this afternoon and we were blown away! While we were there, the owner Martin sat down and talked with us. He is a friendly guy who was telling us about the plans for Burger Bear moving forward. He plans on making it an all day breakfast and burger joint to feed the hungry passers by. The burgers will be sold daily while supplies last, and the breakfast will flow freely late into the day. While, I am looking forward to that, the current selection, though limited, is done superbly.

He has the goldilocks solution to the burger shortage in Okinawa with his proprietary blend of spiced burger meat creating the mouth watering Baby Bear, Mama Bear, and Pappa Bear burgers for delicious devouring. Additionally, he has the Big Daddy Bear challenge consisting of 7, 1/3 pound patties on a burger for a foolish fellow to engorge themselves on in the 15 minute time limit. He's also got shakes, fries, and chili dogs to round out the truly American selection.

Come to Burger Bear and leave with an...

I've been passing this place for a while now; after being highly recommended I decided to stop by this afternoon. When we went in everyone greeted us and quickly sat us at a table. There was good music playing and the view is incredible. So much so that I didn't even look at the menu until the wait staff came to the table. Having never been here I asked for a recommendation. The young lady recommended the 'Backyard Burger'. After a few short seconds of browsing through the menu I was thinking the prices are a little high so I went with her recommendation and added chili cheese to the fries. We decided to split an Arabic Coffee Cinnamon shake. My wife got the French toast breakfast. When our food came out I no longer thought the prices were high. You get so much food (American size servings) and the shakes are HUGE! Not only did we get a lot of food but it was DELICIOUS. I have never had a better burger! The patty was seasoned with the perfect blend of spices and juicy; on top of that THEY USE CHEDDAR CHEESE!!! The bacon was crispy and the chili cheese fries, to DIE for! My wife's French toast is the best we've ever had. Crispy outside and soft inside with the perfect flavor profile. We tried to eat everything but it was just too much. They have to-go boxes and cups. We have definitely found our new favorite Burger spot...

Visited here for a quick lunch thinking it was a normal burger joint. Prices were more expensive than local steak places like Sam's Cafe. Seems they have a lot of military people nearby that visit so the prices are double what you would expect for here in Okinawa. Service was slow even though there was only one other table of 4 customers. Over heard them complaining about that the prices were raised due to the favorable US dollar rate the military were getting. Over all the food was not impressive, service was slow and prices were the highest I have yet to encounter here in Okinawa for a simple burger combo. Definitely will not visit Burger Bear again. Recommend if you do eat here plan on paying about double per person of what you would pay anywhere else. I took pictures of the menu attached.

Currently I new favorite restaurant on island. A little bit of America in Oki. Great service and owner. Very inviting place. Menu changes sometimes which is often because everything they make is awesome so just want to see them make anything and see how t comes out! Owner put together a Butter Pecan Milkshake for my wife’s birthday. So appreciated it was so so good!! Thick, creamy and frosty! Probably would gain 20lbs a month if I was going to live here much longer because I can get enough of this place! Recommend everyone try it before you leave the island. You will regret it is you don’t. Bacon Blueberry BBQ Pineapple Cheeseburger!!! Geez!! Yes I said Blueberry BBQ sauce!!
