Matoi Sushi — Restaurant in Goto

We first found Matoi Sushi because we were walking nearby and asked for a reservation to eat the day after. We were so happy for this encounter because this is such a great place !

First, the atmosphere is very nice and the rooms to eat are very beautiful. We didn't understand everything on the menu but the owners were so nice and helpful with us that we could order everything we wanted.

Then the food came and we were amazed! Everything was so good and beautiful.

This great meal was sublimated by the kindness of the hosts, we thank them for their warm welcoming.

海の玄関先「福江港」からタクシーを飛ばして25分、富江の中心部の小さな古いビルの2階の立地に「まとい寿司」さんが構えています。エレベーターは無く、階段で2階へ登ると暖簾が入り口の目印。ちょっとカーナビに住所を入れておかないと気付かない位に目立たないので注意が必要です。

ビルの1階に無料駐車場があります。計４台は停められると思います。これまで何度も通ってますが、駐車場に停められなかった事はありません。

店に入ると、大将がのんびり出てきます。威勢のいい気張った雰囲気ではなく、田舎寿司らしくのんびりとした空気が流れます。奥様と二人三脚のお店です。大将拘りが詰まった寿司が出てきます。

中央にテーブル席、カウンターが5席弱、お座敷が20席ほど備えます。観光客は基本皆無で地元民の宴会などで愛されているお店です。宴会が入ると断られる事もあるので事前に一本電話されるといいかもです。

握りは、漁師から直接仕入れた活きのいい新鮮なネタがたっぷり出て来ます。写真のお寿司はおまかせで、1900円ほどです。これほどまでにコスパの高い寿司は出会ったことがありません。仕事柄よく五島に行くのですが、これまで10軒以上五島の寿司屋を回りましたが、ここがブッチギリのNo.1です。
