Maruhatsu — Restaurant in Hachimantai

We were in Hachimantai for a few days and started looking for local ramen places after spending all day in the snow. Found Maruhatsu and decided to take a chance even though our Japanese is limited. It is a small shop that is easy to miss when it’s dark outside, but the directions will take you right there. We sat down and fortunately for us, they have an English menu. It is a husband and wife team running the whole restaurant. I ordered the spicy ramen and it was some of the best spicy ramen I’ve ever had. My husband and one son had the chashu ramen, and the pork was super tender and flavorful. The broth was delicious as well. My other son has the katsudon and he said it was delicious, and my other son has the fried rice which he loved. I’m so happy we found this restaurant, we all kept talking about how delicious it was all night. The portions were large, especially for the price point. Would’ve gladly paid more for the quality and quantity of food. If you’re in the Hachimantai area, I 100% recommended this place and I would visit again if we ever come through...

2022年3月 所用で近場をドライブしていると、グーグル先生がやたらと「近くにいいラーメン屋があるよ」とすすめてくる。試しに寄ってみた。

地元では有名店らしい。 店の近所は区画整理中で道がわけわからない状態になっており、ナビでも最後まではたどりつけない、最後は自分の目と判断で行くしかない。店の周辺は道路がとても狭く、ミニバン系などはこすらないように注意が必要。 駐車場は店より奥にあり、看板が出ているのですぐわかる。土で舗装はされていないので足元注意だが、けっこう広いので混雑時でも余裕で停められるだろう。 店の外観は「小料理屋？」といったかんじ。 中に入るとカウンター席が7つほどと座敷テーブル席が3つほど。 水は基本セルフ、メニューはカウンターの上部だけにある。 店のご夫婦は寡黙だが、変に客に媚びない姿勢や由。 ニンニクチーズタンメンとやらをいってみたかったが、ここは基本で味噌ラーメンから入ることにする。 カウンターの真ん前で鍋を奮って作っているところが見える。 出てきた味噌ラーメンは辛味噌ラーメン系とわかる外観。これはウマイだろうとすぐわかる。スープを飲んで見る、かなりのコク！これはウマイ。ピリ辛が弱すぎたりせずほんといい。懸念されている細麺でも別に問題なしの美味しさ。野菜の水分でスープが薄くなってしまったガッカリ味噌ラーメンではないことは確かだ。しかもスープがいつまでも熱い！かなり熱いので汗かきの人はハンドタオルを持参することをオススメする。ボリュームもしっかりあって満腹。これはいい味噌ラーメンを見つけた、近くに来たときはリピート確定の店だろう。目の前で作られていた他の客用のチャーハンがとてもうまそうに見えた、が腹は限界なので我慢した。paypayなどの電子決済はなし。 ご主人が一人で調理しているので、直前にファミリーなどが先に入店していると待たさ...
