CHAVATY HAKUBA — Restaurant in Hakuba

Great tea & scones place with an incredible view. With your round trip ticket for the main Gondola “Noah”, you can take second smaller chairlift that will take you down in a more quiet spot. Here you will find Chavaty Tea & Latte. The shop is in a modern wood structure and offers a stunning view of the valley underneath and the mountains. In proximity to the shop they have positioned a number of tables and chairs for visitors and a variety of toys for kids. The sun can be brutal here so be ready to hide in the tents available for protection. The shop is small and be ready to queue for a long time to order and pick up. The cafe has a very limited menu but quite tasty. Menu is pretty much 2 types of scones, 2 types of soft ice cream and a variety of teas hot or cold (matcha, chai, UVA and Hojicha). The Tea set offers 2 scones and a tea + spreads for ¥1298 (you can add ¥150 extra for the large take away ice tea bottle). We preferred to normal scone to the special Chavaty Chromos scone (made with Hakuba Limited Kuro-moji apparently something from a local tree). If you come early enough in the day you might be able to secure a mini picnic set (that is the tea set + a small salad). Negative sides of the place: very limited menu no vending machines so no water if you don’t like tea you cannot find anything to drink (no coffee or soft drinks). No baby changing facilities in the public toilets in the area so be aware if visiting with infants. Very long waiting time for a product that is pretty much pre-made. 概要：テラス席なら愛犬同伴可能な長野県白馬村岩岳のカフェ。北アルプスの絶景を眺めながら、香り高い紅茶やソフトクリームを、愛犬同伴で楽しめます。

CHAVATY白馬は、長野県白馬村の白馬岩岳マウンテンリゾート内にあるカフェです。表参道のティーラテのお店として知られているCHAVATY直営のカフェで、グリーンシーズン（4月〜11月）・ウインターシーズン（12月〜3月）共に営業しています。

愛犬同伴可能な条件としては、屋外席であれば可能です。とは言っても店内にお席はありませんので、愛犬の有無でお席の条件に変わりはありません。商品購入・受け取りの際には、店内に入る必要がありますので、その際は愛犬を同伴者に託して入店する必要があります。屋外のテラス席からは北アルプスの雄大な山々や、白馬村の田園風景の眺望を存分に楽しむことができます。その代わり、屋根やひさしはほとんどないため、雨天・荒天時には利用困難です。またカフェのテラス席が満席であったとしても、店舗周辺にはベンチが点在していますし、芝生に大の字で寝転んでも良いので、そちらの利用の方が十分に白馬の自然を満喫できるかと思います。なおウインターシーズンは愛犬同伴でスキー場内の移動や５線サウスリフトの利用ができないので、愛犬同伴での来訪はグリーンシーズン限定となります。

今回訪れたのは、5月末の土曜日の昼過ぎでした。当日は山頂部分で音楽フェスが開催されていましたが、会場からリフト（５線サウスリフト）を乗り継いで移動する必要があったため、音楽フェスによる混雑はしていませんでした。それでも、人気のあるお店だけあって、注文までには5〜10分程度並ぶ必要がありました。この時に注文したのは、クロモジ（クスノキ科の良い香りのする木）のソフトクリームと、コールドブリュー・ウバのストレートです。クロモジソフトクリームはほのかに薬草の香りを含んだ、とてもしっとりなめらかなソフトクリームで、とても美味しくいただけました。またストレートティーは香り高くすっきりとした味わいで、散策後の乾いた体にとても沁みました。もしランチタイムに伺うことがありましたら、スコーンとティーのセットを注文して、ヒトトキノモリで北アルプスの雄大な自然をゆっくり堪能しても良いかと思います。
