I‘ve already been to this area of Japan and really liked it, so naturally I had to come back. This time, the host of our Airbnb, Kon-san, introduced us to his friend Nobu-san, the owner of this lovely Cafe. We first got to eat some delicious Curry in the cozy living room/ fireplace area. After that we got equipped with proper clothing for outside and started a little trekking and fishing adventure. We drove for a couple of minutes and started walking into the woods, until we arrived at a little river. We continued to walk up the stream and from time to time stopped to throw in our bait in order to catch some fish - which actually worked! We saw Japanese monkeys and a rare Japanese Mountain Goat + a beautiful waterfall! The tour was great :) I would definitely recommend this Cafe/Guesthouse + the fishing tour to anyone who happens to be in the area, one of the best experiences I‘ve made during my Japan trips!

This was our best experience in all of Japan. The food was outstanding. The cosy fire is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon. Our hosts were very nuanced in the way they showed us around. We enjoyed daily onsen, hiking, blossoms and more. I cannot recommend this Cafe and guest house enough. Do yourself a favour and book today!

Cozy, charming cafe in Hakusan that is a great place to stop before entering the park or on your way out. The interior is a great mix of traditional Japanese and western aesthetics. The owners are very nice and helped us in English. Coffee was great :)
