I never actually entered the store, so cannot comment. However, I drove for an hour to get there only to find the carpark was completely full. There were one or two cars double-parked, waiting at every filled parking space. I estimated that it would take 2-3 hours to actually park my car, so subsequently left. Most other supermarkets in Japan employ staff to ensure smooth parking. Costco, it seems, care little about this kind of customer service. Additionally, the previous day I visited another Costco looking for a particular product. Because it wasn’t there, I made the journey to this Costco. Before leaving my house, I called customer services to enquire about availability. They replied that they were unable to provide this information. What other kind of service might a customer want??
