The service at this place was chaotic, messy and unprofessional. I'm used to this kind of service in Europe but not in Japan. We felt more like we were bothering them than being welcomed. It didn't help that a woman raced past us as we were walking towards the restaurant to take the last seat on the terrace. And when someone else left, the same woman jumped to that free seat because it had a better view. Some people are just selfish, and we were standing there like idiots in the heat with a small baby while staff seemed overwhelmed and instead of communicating properly she just mumbled things while walking. When we finally sat down, set up the baby seat, had a look at the menu and decided what to order (pizza's), the staff said : all pizza's are sold out, it's just sandwiches. Well, you could have saved us half and hour if you had just cared to mention that beforehand ! So I said : I've had it with this place, and we left. I can't judge the food because we didn't eat here, and I'll guess we'll never know because we won't be going back there. Bad service is super rare in Japan, it happens like once or twice a year. We finally went to a family restaurant chain, with the usual kind and professional service, great food and prices, and were satisfied after all, those places are really underrated (always 3.5-3.7 stars) whereas local shops tend to get 4.0-4.4 stars often well deserved but also quite often just overrated. I got the only vegan option available, which was the hummus pita sandwich with a side salad. It was well made, fresh and nicely presented; and taste-wise, it was good, but nothing special. Only a fork was provided, which was inconvenient for eating the salad. In terms of volume, it's just a light meal, not for hungry people with big appetites. I bought some buns, which they said didn't contain eggs or dairy, and although generously filled with additions, they were dense and heavy, not my preference. Nice cafe, but I probably won't go out of my way...
Read moreI am a dark voyager. On a lonely afternoon, I’ve stumbled upon this small shop in the middle of my mission, however before continuing my journey my abdominal pain was sharper than usual. I approached the woman who happens to be the hop keeper and allowed me to use her establishment. 56 seconds later, I was finished, and ready to continue my journey. As I step foot out to the world of unknown, she came running up towards us and say “take this, this shall bless your journey.” Thank you woman, I shall remember your kindness forever.
