Is it the most delicious and amazing ramen set in the world? No. But after a mountain climb, cold and tired, and how this was the only place that was open when the rest of the town was dead, it was a god send.
As a tourist and traveler this is basically as back to basic as you get with Japanese food. But I would argue it is as close to home cooked as you get. Clean, fresh, and modestly good tasting. The price is good too for the amount of food that you get.
The old couple that run it have heart and were willing to entertain and talk to a foreigner who didn't know Japanese. We managed to get by with a bit of broken Japanese on my part and Google translate.
