This place is so amazing that it's difficult to write the review. Not only is the hotel cheap and spacious, in a beautiful location full of amazing things, the hotel itself is also full of amazing things. The pictures of this place don't show it off at all, I will take some good pictures next time I go there.
The gym is beautiful, there is a beautiful skatepark with skateboards to rent and with an outstanding treehouse design outside and a BBQ grill to use, it's on the beach with surfing boards to rent, there is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant downstairs where you can hang out freely with good priced food, couches, a stage, and even a big screen and a bunch of switch games and board games. Seeing people politely but in a fun and carefree manner sit with their families or friends and laugh and play there always makes me smile. The staff is so accommodating and free feeling, chill surfers smiley cool vibes from everybody. There are two cute doggies sitting in the entrance often. The showers are sooo nice to use and feel really great to use, with a spacious place a mirror hair fan and many products to use freely. For real, I'm so happy I found this place, it's such a treat, and it goes for so cheaply!! 8-10k yen a night at summer and 3k yen a night at winter!! Woah. My stay there was so fun. The view from the windows is gorgeous, the town is gorgeous, the room is sooo spacious and comfortable, and everything else is as well.
The rooms are classic Japanese styled with a table to eat around and great design, minimalist but styled.
Oh and there's a pool and jacuzzi near the skatepark the treehouses and the grill too!!
There were some reviewers that complained that neighbors can be heard from the walls. I heard neighbors talking slightly at times in one room but not in the other room. I suppose it depends on luck but the owners are very kind and honest and I think they will be able to help you guess which rooms will be quieter at the time you're there and to book you around other quiet visitors. I stayed at winter so I'm not sure what kind of visitors may be at summer, so I'm just saying. My stay was quiet for the most part though.
I also heard some reviewers complain about the cleaning lady. I think she doesn't work there at summer? If you encounter her, think of it as a funny npc in a Nintendo game. Definitely a funny lady.
Wherever you go, Ichinomiya is a dreamy place with beautiful things and funny and laid back people. I would definitely say this is one heck of a dreamy...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 weeks for my summer vacation and had an incredible time. The location is perfectly located next to the beach. Drive-In offers everything you need for your stay: restaurant, skate park, and surf suits and boards if you want to surf.
The staff is friendly and makes the stay worth it. There is also a great gym accessible for guests that is fully equipped. Overall a gem in Japan to stay at and enjoy the beach outside of Tokyo.
I happened to be there when they had a special cuisine and the photos are listed. Delicious!
Absolutely would recommend and encourage...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. This hostel is managed so well, everything is kept and maintained very well. The managers Eri & Shingo were amazing, they were so kind and helpful and knew the answer to all my questions about Ichinomiya. They had such nice and friendly dogs that made me feel right at home.||Free parking was a huge bonus and the restaurant/bar had a fun vibe and good food. Terrific location. We were a short walk from a convenience store and the beach. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. I would stay again and recommend to...
