The food tasted good, but a few things were lacking.
👍Good point #1: Flavour. I had the beef and yuzu kosho pasta, it was a very tasty flavour combination. The shrimp pasta was also good. 👍Good point #2: Atmosphere. It had "nice meal" vibes, and a candle for the table.
🫤Needs work #1: They clearly don't use their pasta water to thicken the sauce, as both of us ended up with a soup on our plate at the end. (See picture) The pasta was also pretty floppy and soft. 🫤Needs work #2: It took 40 minutes to receive our food, and someone who arrived after us left at the same time. It seemed to be just the two of them working but if you're going to make everything expensive and seem fancy, you should have the pace and service to fit.
📣To note: You need a reservation. They also asked if we were family(??). This is Japanese style pasta and pizza (so don't visit expecting authentic Italian. It's good in its own right but different). They have some handmade tableware for sale upstairs.
Overall: It seemed that they were concentrating on the wrong things. They seemed concerned about making it fancy without first having the restaurant techniques that would justify it. A few simple changes would go a long way.
It's tasty, and if you're staying nearby as we were, this is a good place to go for dinner and drinks without...
Read moreMy partner and I recently booked a table at the restaurant. When we arrived, the place was empty and very dark. We were seated and asked if we were married. We responded that we lived together but weren't sure of the relevance of our relationship. The manager (unmasked) then rudely told us that if we were not married, we were unable to sit together to avoid the spread of the virus. With no other customers present or staff other than the unfriendly man, we couldn't understand his adamance on this. All other restaurants we went to on the island didn't seem to have any issue with us being seated together. We believe that as there was no chef present, he simply didn't want to serve us and found this an effective way to drive away customers. Many of the items on the menu were not available and so we chose to leave and found an excellent place very nearby with friendly staff, a warm atmosphere, and great food. I would advise avoiding this place for an enjoyable...
Read moreGood Italian/Japanese fusion restaurant located overlooking a forest. Vegetarian friendly too (possibly vegan, although I didn't ask specifically about that). Had the papaya salad and the potato with cheese and truffle as a starter. Both really good. Then fermented tofu and mushroom pasta as a main, where the portion size was quite generous but as has been mentioned here by others it would be lovely to see more vegetables and slightly less pasta make up the plate. English menu available, and waitress also spoke good English.
Above the restaurant they also sell the beautiful kitchen crafts they use in the restaurant themselves. Cute little restaurant. Would be happy...
