Nice shop and local sugar cane processing factory. Caters to locals unlike the ぱぱ屋 up the slope that seems to cater to tourists. High quality shaved ice, local jaggery (molasses), and snacks are very nice . Try the raw sugar cane if you’ve not had before. Their season is winter but even off season is worth trying if you don’t have a chance back home.

以前私の両親が「やし屋さんとっても良かったよ!」という評判を聞いていたのでお邪魔しました☺️ お母さんからの「どこから来たの〜?今からどちらへ〜?」という話をきっかけに、楽しいお話から、とっても深い話までたくさんお話できて楽しかったです☺️✨ 夫婦2人で飲むならとジュースにストローを2本刺してくれたり、カップバウムクーヘンを偶数で切ってくださったり、ドリンクの代わりにサトウキビにしようか〜?と提案してくださったり、お母さんの愛をたっぷり感じられた1時間でした♡♡ お父さんが焼かれたバウムクーヘンはお母さんがキッチンに入ると喧嘩になるほどこだわって作られているそうで、我が子のように可愛がって作られたバウムクーヘンは、しっとりしてキメが細かくてお土産にいくつか購入させてもらいました!♡ とある話をしていた時に、お母さんが私のために泣いてくれて、いっぱいハグをしてくれました。 たくさんサービスしてくださって、たくさん愛情をくださって、本当に旅行の最後にお母さんに会えて良かったです(⋆ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)” また石垣島に旅行に来たときは「お母さんただいまー!」とお店に帰ってきたいと思います🥰

気さくで明るいおば様が1人で切り盛りしていました。「ごめんね、今日は1人だから時間かかっちゃうの！」を連呼しつつ、定食や八重山そばを作ってくれました。 連れ合いは「この八重山そば、今までで一番美味い！」と喜んでいました。 私はあまりお腹が空いていなかったので、バームクーヘンカップ（カットバームクーヘンにアイスクリームが乗っている）をいただきました。 とても美味しかった(,,•﹏•,,)です。 入った時は、私たちと4人組男性だけでしたが、しばらくすると、次々に人が来ました。 おば様はそのたびに「ごめんね、○分ぐらいかかっちゃうの！」と説明してくれました。 おじ様が1人、製菓室にこもってバームクーヘンを焼いていました。 「時間が足りない！1日30時間欲しい！1日中頑張って、いい素材使って焼いてるんだけど、1日に30個しか焼けないのよ~(⚲□⚲)」とおば様は嘆きつつ、高速で料理をしてくれました。 思いもかけず、美味しい休憩になりました。

Only place we found with FRESH juice in 2 weeks, and owner saved our life!

While diving in Kabira Bay, a Japanese diver told us about a great place to get fresh juice after swimming and snorkeling at Yonehara Beach.

He was right--very fresh and delicious juice, as well as sugar cane to chew on. W had trouble finding a taxi home from Yonehara Beach at 6:30 Yonehara (the place seems to shut down early and Yashiya itself is a bit remote but we walked there from the beach). The owner didn't speak English but tried to call us a taxi, and then contacted our hotel. When the hotel told us to walk home (YES!) we started to panic, until the owner offered to take us home herself. The drive was 10km and she absolutely refused any money.

Now, the juice was fresh and delicious, and we had trouble finding much fresh juice in Japan, so the place was worth it, but this woman went above and beyond and truly I will never forget the kindness of Ms. Achong and how she prevented a big disaster! Also the brown cakes are delicious.

There are some negative reviews, it looks like people being hypersenstive to how they are treated by what I presume is a different staff member than we met, but I can recommend...

Such a fun and warm experience at Yashi-ya. We went there twice as my wife is a sugar fiend^^ The lady running the shop greeted us each time like we were friends she hadn't seen in ages. She's full of laughter and good energy. She made the sato-kibi (sugar cane) juice by running the sugar cane through a machine that squeezed the juice out. It was wonderful! If we come to Ishigaki again, we'll go see her and have another one of her amazing...

They serve food here as well!

We had "meal of the day", which ended up being stir-fried meat, tofu and veggies with miso and rice, as well as coffee/tea and a small dessert consisting of a soft cake and a fresh stick of sugar cane. Very happy about it! The staff spoke no English, but were very friendly and we got far with pointing and gesturing and my extremely limited Japanese. It felt...
