Kihachi — Restaurant in Itoshima

The squid sashimi is the highlight of the place. There's actually so much good food there. We were quite stuffed with eating. Very enjoyable! Nice views at their outdoor garden too. The squid was so fresh, and even the tempura was really well done. A lot of locals frequent the place. We only just had an unpleasant experience with another customer, two ladies who were really selfish and combative at the carpark (it was full at that time), and they lacked the social grace which we have come to expect in Kyushu. They didn’t have squid, but they had life cuddle fish when I went, and that was good as well! The location is beautiful!

I recommend getting the Japanese style seating rather than the chairs so you can be next to the ocean...

今日は天気がよかったので、糸島市二丈吉井にある「喜八荘」でランチと日帰り温泉を楽しみました。

こちらはJR筑肥線福吉駅から徒歩10分ほどのところにあります(あとで聞いた話ですが連絡すると送迎もしてくれるそうです)

土曜日の13時過ぎに訪問しましたが、店内はほぼ満席でした。店内は、玄界灘が一望できる小上がりの席とテーブル席がありますが、小上がりの席はあいていなかったのでテーブル席へ。

ぼくたちは「いか活き造り膳」と天ぷらと刺身が入った「天刺膳」を頼もうと思いましたが、店員さんに「2つ頼むと多いかも」と言われたので「いかの活き造り膳」と「天ぷら盛り合わせ」、ごはん、ビールなどを頼みました。 この日のいかは「水イカ」でした。

少し待つと「いかの活き造り膳」が到着！お膳の上で水イカが足を動かしていました。水イカには申し訳ないのですが、今も生きている新鮮な水イカの薄造りをいただきました。新鮮で甘くてとっても美味でした！

いかのゲソは天ぷらか塩焼きにしてもらえます。ぼくたちは天ぷら盛り合わせを頼んでいたので塩焼きにしてもらいましたが、「いかの活き造り膳」だけ頼んで天ぷらにしてもらうのがいい気がします。

食べ終わると日帰り温泉へ。玄界灘が一望できる露天風呂は最高でした！ちなみに温泉に入らなくても庭に出ると玄界灘の景色を見ることができます。

食事処で膳を食べると温泉が200円引きになるので、先に食事をしてから温泉に行くのがいいかもしれません。
