My friend and I came at at around 5 o' clock and we were in time for happy hour. I heard that this place had sushi rolls, something I had been missing since moving to Japan.

We got there and it was a small homestyle bar set up. Everything about this place screamed SoCal to me from the Blink 182 playing in the background to the Trader Joes bags proudly displayed on the wall. This took me back to my home in Los Angeles.

Shimada san and his wife run this place and they are a very nice couple. He knew English well and actually lived in San Diego. They didn't have an English menu but he was able to explain everything. Everything on the menu has the tax included so it was easy to figure out splitting.

I came for the sushi rolls and I was surprised to find that they had GREAT Mexican food. For Japan, this place is a gem. We split some nachos and my friend got an enchilada. They had everything I missed about Mexican food. They had the proper cheese, avocado and cilantro. The spiciness was perfect too! Since they had the ingredients, they were able to make some fish tacos for me. They were so perfect I wanted to cry because I was happy.

They also had more room upstairs for bigger parties. Shimada san suggested it for small get togethers or end of the year parties.

I would DEFINITELY come back. I had a great time....

Owners were so incredibly kind and helpful, the food was delicious. After being turned down at 2 other restaurants, we were starving and feeling defeated and we left, happy, full and grateful! We got a medium steak, nachos, quesadillas (not shown) 2 fish tacos, and 3 sushi rolls... the homeless, poke and crunchy rolls... everything was delicious. We had 2 kids in tow and they were extremely friendly and nice...

A Hidden Gem!!! We stopped here for lunch on our travels. At first you're not sure you're going to the right place but keep going. This place is worth the effort. A beautiful couple running it themselves and the food is so fresh and tasty. The sushi rolls are great! We ended up having a nice conversation with the owner and felt very comfortable and welcomed. If you're in the area definitely add this...

Their sushi is amazing!!! I recommend the Homeless Roll. At this point I think I’ve tried them all and this is the best. It reminds me of the sushi in America. The Nachos are also another great dish I recommend! Their other dishes are good too but maybe not as authentic. They can get busy so making a reservation is advised.
