Unexpectedly terrific biryani! I love biryani so much that if I go to an Indian restaurant and they use basmati rice for it, I’ll skip the curry and go straight for that. As a biryani lover, there are very few biryanis that I’d come back for. Usually they are not bad, just lack in the punch of spices. For the few places that are exceptional, I’d crave often almost like an addiction. I usually only get to enjoy good biryani around Tokyo. I had not found a place around Yamanashi that I really love until this place.
They use both powdered spice and whole spices. I am a huge fan of whole spices to taste the burst of flavors. The whole black pepper corns, whole cardamom, nuts, dried raisins, fried onion, raita, the layered flavors in the rice… It wasn’t over mixed and each bite was a different exploration and combinations of flavors. It reminded me why I love this dish so much. I recently lost a loved one and this chicken biryani set comforted my soul. I felt the love and thoughtfulness of their food.

What sets this place beyond other restaurants is the attentive waitstaff. Not only were we checked on, we were asked about if the spice was to our liking. The moment I finished my Naan and thought to ask for more, I was asked about it.
