I looked for a bakery on Google maps and I saw this bakery was open and had good ratings so I went to give it a try. I missed the parking lot the first time but Google maps led me back around to it. The hills in this area are VERY steep and roads a bit narrow but my van did OK navigating the roads. One you reach the parking lot you travel down the steep hill back to the main street and follow it until you turn left at the bakery sign. There are lots of signs which are very helpful. When you turn left there is another sign that will lead you up stairs and to the bakery cafe. I was with my baby so doing this walk was a little strenuous so I thought maybe I won't come back because it's hard to get to. I ordered the tuna sandwich and bought fresh coffee bread. When I tried the food I was amazed. It was SO GOOD. It's so good that even though the location is difficult to get to I will return so that I can let my husband try the bread. 10/10 so amazing! The only problem about the location is that it might be impossible for someone with mobility issues or wheelchair to access this place. I think that the owners are probably kind enough that maybe they would bring take out down to you if that was the case. Anyway, just something to consider if you have a difficult time with steep hills or stairs. I would recommend...
Read moreThe best bread I ate so far in Japan, one of the worst service though.
The product itself is really good. But the whole experience I had in this bakery was very disappointing. They made us wait for one hour in a 32°c hot summer weather and told us we couldn't wait inside because of the coronavirus (but other customers could).
After one hour waiting, I went to see them to ask how long we would have to wait more. She told me maybe 1 hour or 1,30 hour more. She expected to make her customers wait outside for 2 hours and 30 minutes in the crazy hot weather of Okinawa (83% of humidity) while she had some tables available ? Because of my questions, she finally gave us one of the free tables. Don't ask me why she didn't do it before, this is still a mystery to me.
So the service is pathetic, it's really expensive for a sandwich (1000 yen if you eat there), but the product itself is really good.
If you want to go there, make a reservation. Otherwise,...
Read moreSo delicious! I went with my 2 year old and was no disappointed! She got the kids plate, which came with two types of bread, jelly, the soup of the day, and a sausage. She really enjoyed the bread and soup! I got the roasted vegetable sandwich and soup, which was really delicious. The freshly baked bread is truly delightful; solid crunch on the outside with a soft and chewy interior. So good. I didn't see a high chair, so we were up and down quite a bit. We got several pieces of bread to go, including a plain roll, an orange rind and chocolate roll, and a spicy cheese roll. All were delicious! The service was wonderful, and everyone was kind, even though my kid was occasionally in the main walkway wandering around. I did miss the entrance at first. It looks like you're walking up a steep driveway to a garage or workshop, but then there are stairs to the left if the metal building, so just keep going up and you'll get to...
