I came here with my boyfriend 2 years ago and had an unforgettable experience. Upon entering, the staff woman immediately said to us, "we aren't accepting customers from outside Mie prefecture." She had no way of knowing where we were from, she just assumed this because we don't look Japanese. I then said to her in Japanese that my driver's license, license plate #, and business card has Mie written on it and flashed my business card in her face. She obviously wasn't expecting this and said "ok, well then...." Motioning for us to have a seat but clearly we had lost interest by then and walked out. If this isn't discrimination, I don't...
