I went to Kyoto during the New Year’s holiday in January 2024, went for a short hike, and found this cute little place at the end of the trail. This shop is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a peaceful moment in the mountains. Their Omurice and udon were simple but perfect. I also loved the vibe and atmosphere there, as they still turn on the radio to listen to music. When I was there, I remember the radio playing “Yesterday Once More” by the Carpenters, which made me feel nostalgic for my childhood. The owner is so cute and kind; she gave me a small gift for New Year's Day. It’s a sake cup. (I think they also do pottery and made the cup by themselves) Thank you for making one of my peaceful New Year holidays perfect :)

A hidden gem away from the crowds. The town is walking distance from Arashiyama, and there’s a bus that comes once an hour. I got the omurice and it was the best omurice I’ve ever had. The pottery was also super cute and I got a couple of teacups painted with Chinese zodiac animals. I cannot recommend the experience enough. The surrounding area is so tranquil and beautiful.

A quite Café/Restaurant with a small pottery included. The owner was very friendly and polite. It was a very local experience, in the only open place in this beautiful small village.

A fantastic stop for some lunch during our hike. The owner was very polite and generous. He makes his own pottery, very good craftsmanship. I wish I had brought more cash, so I could have bought a nice teapot... Food was good, my fiance said it was the best matcha latte...
