BaysidePlace M'ｓdeli（ベイサイドプレイス エムズデリ） — Restaurant in Maizuru

Amazing views, secluded location right on the bay. I definitely recommend coming by car, and if you are in the area, it's likely that you are going to visit the Maizuru Natural and Cultural Park to see their camellia blooming (March) or hydrangea blooming (June). M's Deli is only about 20 minutes from the park and a great place to have coffee or lunch. We stopped here for lunch, and I thought it was quite good, though the price is a bit higher than I normally would pay and I'm not sure if the ingredients were local (1350 yen for curry rice - a Maizuru specialty curry rice). However, I will say that the lunch came with a side salad that included tomatoes and broccoli (which I was pleasantly surprised by). Next time I visit, I will forego lunch and have their blueberry crème brûlée or apple cake (both looked amazing). We were there during COVID restrictions, and the second floor was closed off, but if the views from the second are anything like the views from the first floor, you will have unobstructed views of the bay. They also took very good precautions for COVID, including having us fill out a form, sanitizer at the door, mask precautions (except while eating), and socially distanced tables. Out in front of the restaurant is a pier where people were fishing. I also noticed that a family of cats lives under the deck of the restaurant and are often playing along the pier. And they let me photograph them! So kind. The restaurant is definitely a hike, but further up the street is Fururu farm, which is a great place for families as they have ponies, goats, sheep, lodging, a restaurant, gift shop with local products, all sitting on a hilltop overlooking the sea. And like I mentioned before, the Maizuru Nature and Cultural Park is also close by.

今回はひうちのキーマカレーを注文しました。 野菜いっぱいで辛さも控えめ、量も十分、美味しくいただきました。 パンケーキ復活してくれるといいな〜。

海の望める非常に居心地の良いお店です。 舞鶴港に入港する船もタイミングがあれば見ることができます。特に自衛隊や海上保安庁の船、西舞鶴港に入港するクルーズ船も見ることができます。 メニューはやや高いようにも感じますが、場所代だと考えれば妥当ではないかと思います。ボリュームもそこそこあります。 ケーキセットなどもありますので食事以外でも利用できます。 カウンター状の海を眺められる席は特にオススメです。 車が無いとアクセスは厳しいですがぜひ一度訪れて見る価値...
