Kaisendonburi Totoya — Restaurant in Maizuru

Located on the east side of the Maizuru Port Tore Tore Center, a seafood market which is an overpriced tourist trap. Totoya's prices seem more reasonable than its neighbors, who are charging ¥500-900 for a single skewer of seafood. The enticing photos of a donburi overflowing with a solid layer of Uni for ¥1,560 seems like a steal. But then you're served a bowl that's not even half full. Talk about bait and switch. And the quality of the Uni is pitiful, possibly the worst I've ever had. There should be much better choices at proper sit-down restaurants in Nishi or...

A small restaurant in the tore tore market. The price is not too expensive for kaisen-don but the volume is not too big. We had to buy tickets from the vending machine and the food was then delivered to our table.
