Mashiko is definitely a day trip. We left Shimbashi on the 7:51 am train. There were 2 tours. One at 10:30am and one at 3pm. We elected for the 3pm tour so we could check out the Mashiko pottery in town. The tour was short but educational. The staff was really nice. After the tour we did our tasting in the cafe.
