This is a quaint little pizza place in the middle of nowhere. We were only able to find it, through friends of ours who live in the area. The outside is deceiving. It looks to be run down, old and dirty. However, when you get inside, the image is quite different! High vaulted ceiling‘s with old large timbers stand tall above six or sevenfor person tables. There is a lot of interesting, old-style Japanese decor with an obvious admiration for music. The building is approximately 100 years old, and he’s been in the family for a long, long time. In the olden days it was used as a sake distillery. It is now a pizza shop run by the daughter of that distillery. The food is excellent!! The prices are very reasonable, pizza goes for anywhere from ¥800-¥1200. We tried three different kinds of pizza salami, currie and ocean (shrimp etc) pizza. We also enjoyed a spaghetti dish served in a cod roe white sauce - they were all fantastic! We also had an oven baked, bread covered stew that was amazing! All food is home baked in their back kitchen. The highlight of our food experience here though, was the small dessert buns called Puri (プーリ) which is dipped in a maple syrup and is absolutely delicious! The staff does not speak English, but with a little bit of Japanese you can get by easily here. I didn’t inquire about an English menu, but I will next time I’m there. And, if they don’t have one I will probably make one for them. They are open from 11:00 to 19:30. A must stop if you are in the area and looking for a quaint treat off the...
