Momiji Cafe — Restaurant in Mishima

This comfy spot was an amazing culinary experience. To reach the café we had to go around the building and through a narrow and gorgeous japanese garden. The spot itself was cozy and authentic to japanese culture, while also containing australian decorarions, as the place is hosted by an Australian man and his Japanese wife. I've eaten here twice and both times the food was excellent. I'm vegetarian and the owners were happy to adapt the menu. In fact, they made me a special veggie pie on my second visit, which was delicious! Naturally I tried the lamington and carrot cake, both of which I recommend.

The cafe is set in a lovely garden and when the weather is nice you can sit outside. But even sitting inside you can enjoy watching birds visiting a feeder near the window.
