We went on the day after the typhoon on 8/8/2019, it was unfortunate that the power was down and they were unable to serve their regular menu. The family was still very friendly and welcoming, however we felt bad to disturb them during the difficult time so we left. Hope they will recover from the damage of the typhoon very soon and we can come back some day :)

In an unassuming shack is a little gem of a cafe where you can hear roosters crowing from the coop just out back. Right now their menu is limited to kakigoori (shaved ice), but it’s still worth a visit for this refreshing treat. The shop also sells little baskets of fresh eggs from the chickens out back as well as dry noodles and creams, soaps, etc.

めんやと屋号も書かれてるので午後2時に空港から直接伺いました。土曜日はランチがなくなり次第終了と書かれてるだけで終了とも張り紙してなかったし、4組だけなので麺とかき氷両方楽しもうと思いましたが、たかが4組でも1時間近く待って中に入ると「今日はかき氷しかしてません……」と言われた。かき氷だけでも20分くらい前に入った人がようやくテーブルに運ばれてきてた。前払いなので注文してしまうと長く提供時間かかってもキャンセルして帰ることもできない。かき氷でなぜそんなに時間かかる？？腹ぺこ状態で麺もやってなくて最悪でした。同じかき氷のハーフを頼んだ方が遅くて食べわ終わるタイミングもグループで差がでてしまい、何もかもが不甲斐なかったです。これなら他の店でガッツリ沖縄そば食べれる所に行けば良かったと後悔。今日はかき氷のみというのを表に出しといてほしいです。 かき氷の提供時間を覚悟して行ってください。 店内のエアコンはついていませんでしたのでかき氷待ち時間はムシムシしてます。 1時間以上待って、他の観光をおしてまで食べるものとは思えませんね。写真では大きく見えますが、普通です。

I've never had shaved ice this good. It's as tender as fresh mountain snow. Banana-caramel was an elaborate layering of ingredients that held in place perfectly. The restaurant claims to use real ingredients and I believe them.
