浜焼き 篤丸 — Restaurant in Nagato

During our trip to this beautiful region, we came across this restaurant and wondered how it could have the highest possible rating. When we talked to the chef we jokingly said we did not expect anything lower than a five star lunch and he did not disappoint!! If we could give him an extra star, we would. We had a memorable time, not only tasting exquisite seafood and other fresh local products but also enjoying the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is a delightful place where one can relax to the sound of carefully selected music. Sitting at the counter, we talked with the charismatic chef while he prepared our lunch and we had such fun and laughter that we felt we had known one another for a long time. Visited for lunch on 9th December and probably had the freshest sashimi in my life at this restaurant. The place is located near the motonosumi inari shrine and is designed to look like a warm wooden fisherman’s cabin.

The co-owner himself is a fisherman and serves his daily catches as part of his menu. The fish is of high quality and extremely tasty. He’s a really funny guy as well and made us feel very welcome! Would definitely recommend to pop by for the great food and lively atmosphere. Thank you...

Atsumaru is a great restaurant with amazing freshly caught fish. The owner caught the hijiki seaweed and fish in the morning and prepared it on the same day so everything was very fresh. The owner and employees are so kind, they even gave us some special kaki sweets! The restaurant is really cozy and you get a beautiful view of the sea, I highly recommend...
