If you love coffee, and have never seen a coffee farm in Japan; then Nakayama coffee farm is a must-visit. We coincidently found a brochure left on a bus and decided to check it out and were not disappointed with the guided tour and fully coffee harvesting, processing, and roasting experience. We were even accommodated with an English speaking host!

Located in the mountain the coffee farm is a beautiful place to visit with a mixture of trees and nature surrounding it. They also have a cafe if you prefer to just enjoy a cup of coffee. If you want to try 100% Okinawan coffee beans call ahead of time to see if they have stock.

Our guide Hiro-san was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of coffee and was a highlight of our time. He not only guided us but also answered all our questions about Okinawa coffee growing, harvesting, processing, and roasting. His deep knowledge and passion left a deep impact. Thank you Hiro-san!

To other tourists like me; please reserve ahead of time and check the coffee season as some experiences are challenging. We asked through instagram. - - Also please note, that it can be a bit challenging to get to unless you have a car. We made a hike out of it, but might be more challenging in rainy weather!

Thank you again to Hiro-san and Nakayama coffee for the great experience. We hope to...

This is beautiful quiescent coffee plantation, located at small hill beaten off the bush. This is heaven for coffee lovers. They provide coffee and sweet, as well as a guided tour highlighting and coffee making workshop. It is only accessible by car.

The owners are friendly and introduced their coffee enthusiastically. There are a wide variety of coffees, ranging from ones exclusively grown here, to ones blended with foreign coffee beans.

The coffee is a bit pricey, but the experience is worth the price. The most special item is the tea made with the shell of the coffee bean - it has a mint-tea taste. I...
