We happened to stay in an AirBnB right across the road. Didn't know this place existed. Started seeing people line up to got our attention. Wife said they have gyoza, wings, and ramen. We had to go. Then found out this place was famous for a certain type of ramen, tamago toji ramen. It's a chicken soup that's mixed with eggs, like egg drop soup, but oh so much better. The broth is rich with egg, the egg floating around, small strands and pieces everywhere, waiting to cling to the thin noodles as you slurp them up. The thin noodles are important, getting tangled in the soup, ensuring each bite has thick eggy soup along with the noodles. Side notes the gyoza were delicious as well, 8 small, bite size morsels of goodness. The wings were served burn your fingers hot, spiced with a Chinese 5 spice flavor. Wish I could return...

The wait was definitely worth it!!

We came to Manchinken Ramen restaurant on a recommendation from our Airbnb host.

We put our name down on a waiting list and lined up for around 30mins. Once our name came up, we were called and taken to our table out there back. The service was efficient, friendly and quick.

We.ordered.teo.ramen wonton soups, fried rice,. mayonnaise shrimo and gyoza. They all came out almost instantaneously.

The food was so delicious The Ramen broth was eggy and devine, what a treat! The.gyoza were a bit in the small.size, but also cooked to perfection.

Most impressive was the bill which was less than ¥5000!! 2 adults and 2 kids had a wonderful culinary experience that night. We will be back tomorrow night. Thank you Manchinken for warming our hearts and...

It is a long-established store that has been in business for 54 years since the first owner started the business. It is a very popular store that customers are always waiting. I finally had time to spare, so I wrote my name on the waiting board and got in line.

I was finally able to eat the "Egg Toji (topped with egg) Ramen" that I have been offering since 1968. As advertised, it was excellent!!! Even in Fukuoka Hakata, I have never seen such thin noodles. The beaten egg was firmly entwined with the noodles. The compatibility with the soup is also wonderful, and I ate it all at once with draft beer.

Fried rice, dumplings, and mapo tofu are also popular. I will definitely order...

"Manchinken," located in Nakamura Ward, Nagoya, is a popular restaurant that represents Nagoya's ramen culture. Among its offerings, the signature dish, "Tamago Toji Ramen," continues to be beloved by locals. This ramen features a broth made from carefully selected pork bones and Nagoya Cochin chicken, simmered to perfection, and the delicate, mild egg soup beautifully coats the ultra-thin noodles, creating a taste that is unforgettable. The charm of Manchinken extends beyond just the Tamago Toji Ramen. The menu also boasts expertly seasoned chicken wings, fried rice, gyoza, stir-fried greens, shrimp in chili sauce, and even authentic almond tofu, making the side dishes equally enticing. With spacious table and counter seating, the restaurant is welcoming for families and solo female diners alike. Guests can enjoy their meals while watching the lively open kitchen, which adds to the overall dining experience. One of the reasons for its popularity is the constant line of customers, both day and night. Many visitors arrive before opening time, and it's common to see repeat customers from outside the prefecture. When visiting Nagoya, Manchinken is a must-stop, providing not only local flavors but also a special place that captures the hearts of ramen enthusiasts.
